Hot Cross has been acquired by Frontier
Hot Cross’s mission has always been to make Web 3 accessible and more user-friendly, which is why we built some of the most beloved experiences for onboarding masses into the world of Web 3 DeFi space.
Founded in 2020, Hot Cross managed to ship an extensive multi-chain and cross-chain tool suite that enables blockchain teams and their communities to thrive. And we are proud of having a loyal community who has been there for us during the whole time of building and growing.
Over the course of 2022, we have seen ever growing user demand for financial autonomy and ease of use in DeFi under the idea of a multi-chain future. In 2023 and beyond, we're excited to join hands with Frontier to push forward the DeFi industry.
To that end, we are proud to announce that Frontier has acquired Hot Cross.
We will be bringing our knowledge, expertise, and technology to Frontier in order to power a mainstream-friendly way for users to make entrance into the Web 3 DeFi world.
Frontier's acquisition of Hot Cross marks an exciting new chapter for both projects, who clearly share the same commitment to supporting multi-chain and cross chain strategies, having a security-first mindset, and firm focus on user experience, which makes us ideal partners to each other.
We're still builders in the Wild West, only in a even better platform
As part of the acquisition, the whole Hot Cross team will be joining forces with builders at Frontier to fully integrate our product suite into Frontier, adding highly complementary features, injecting diversified perspectives into product, business, community, and marketing.
To further consolidate the merger between the two teams, we are jointly developing a Layer 1 blockchain based on Cosmos, which will be used to facilitate the private key recovery of self-custodial wallets in a trustless manner.
We appreciate the recognition of Frontier of our technical capabilities. We can’t wait to bring our expertise into the Frontier ecosystem.
What’s Happening to the Hot Cross Applications?
Over the past three years, Hot Cross has made it easy to onboard yourself to DeFi. Our eventual goal is to integrate key components of Hot Cross’s infrastructure into Frontier, providing first-rate services for users to Store, Stake, Swap, Bridge Crypto & NFTs in the Unified non-custodial wallet.
As such, Hot Cross will be sunsetting the original web application website over the remaining year to maximize the protection of users' interests and ensure a smooth transition. The service will be fully integrated into Frontier, and users will not have to worry about anything.
Dates To Be Determined - For Now, It’s Business As Usual
The smart contract of our products will run as usual. This will never change.
Users will be able to access applications in Frontier after the integration.
Users can still take advantage of any application using our API.
Everything will run as usual and feel the same, however, we will attempt to nudge users into a more mobile-facing UI/UX experience.
Regarding Hot Cross tokens and NFTs:
Cross Bosses NFT Collection Continuity: The existing Cross Bosses collection within Hot Cross will continue to exist without any disruptions. Users can expect the NFTs to operate as usual, maintaining their value and functionality. It will always stand for the community spirit.
$HOTCROSS Transition: $HOTCROSS, the native token of Hot Cross, will likely eventually undergo a transition into the Frontier ecosystem. This transition will involve integrating $HOTCROSS into the Frontier platform, aligning it with the broader Frontier ecosystem and its functionalities. We are currently working on the details of this transition and will provide more information soon. We expect it to be of great benefit to users.
