For those who are new here, you may notice that we do things a bit differently. Sometimes you’ll get a month of furious deployments, and other times you’ll get a month of some mind-blowing iterations to improve our overall product suite and prepare us for the next sprint.
March was one of our more productive months. Highlights include, but are not limited to:
Listed on Tier 1 exchange Huobi Global. Since 2021 we’ve always shown a strong affinity for centralized exchanges and compliance. We entered the centralized market with our friends KuCoin and have not stopped expanding to other markets. The reason it’s essential for a team that works primarily on-chain to have strong ties to centralized exchanges is that we work in a B2B capacity and a B2C capacity. We make awesome products for users and try our best to form meaningful business relationships that span the industry, and CeFi with DeFi is the only way the industry will grow.
Cross Bosses continues to evolve steadily. The collection has been listed on almost every premier NFT marketplace on BNB Smart Chain. More importantly, one puzzle piece of its utility launched successfully via multi-chain NFT staking. We’ve been moving carefully with new product rollouts to ensure that we’re not emitting too many rewards to too many mercenaries, and it’s worked well in hardening our community, which we adore.
On the topic of community, we added several Cadets. We have a long list of Cadets in the Hot Cross Telegram room now who are always ready to help or give guidance to new community members. This means a more hands-off approach to community building such that members are able to connect with other members. It’s been awesome seeing how the Hot Cross community has changed over time.
The Hot Cross Application itself has seen quite a lot of mini-releases in the last month, too many to count. Ecosystem TVL has been added in to the site, a safety banner has been added to the site, tweaks to pools and footers have been made, and bugs have been squashed continuously.
New vaults added into Cross Yield. The goal here is just to add every single vault we can add and then start emitting HOTCROSS to LPs. It won’t be an insane emission schedule, but we need to begin Sizzle Pools back up and running again.
The Hot Cross API just had one of its most significant updates ever. Now, third-party developers can READ data from our ecosystem and POST data to it. This is a game-changer regarding potential integration opportunities into third-party wallets or other providers.
We’re still working closely with RankerDAO to ship fee-based badge minters in April. That will happen soon. The smart contracts are done.
Extended a liquidity mining program with Hummingbot for 16 weeks. They are another strong partner in many aspects and bring homebrew style market making to another level.
Several exchanges added HOTCROSS into their margin offerings. This includes KuCoin and MEXC Global.
We launched a new KYC page. Looks fantastic, tbh.
We launched Cross Pool 2, the much-awaited new iteration of Cross Pool, which supports HOTDOG staking and a ton of other options. More to come there. April should be exciting for Cross Pool.
Announced a new acceleration: Galaxy Survivor. We expect this to launch on Avalanche during April and have put in a lot of work behind the scenes to make this happen.
We have integrated more wallets into Hot Cross, namely Huobi Wallet and BitKeep.
We have a new website and a new docs website up. This has been the majority of our quiet work during the month and has reshaped the perception of what Hot Cross is about. When we began in 2021, people looked at our website and saw a white screen with black text. Nobody took us super-seriously. Documentation was sparse. We were too busy building. Now we are taking steps to make the website and the docs they can be, and it’s helping us, especially in the B2B arena, and gaining user confidence which is a must.
We had a fantastic surprise gift card distribution to our community via the Binance Gift Card program with branded gift cards in the style of Cross Bosses. The distribution was for members who had registered into our platform and KYC’d. How cool is that?
Joined the Avalanche Asia Hackathon jury; we keep saying this over and over but don’t sleep on Avalanche.
Listed on Bitrue.
Created a Cross Bosses sticker pack. Use it and be bossy!
Started another 6-month farm with ApeSwap on the HOTCROSS-BUSD LP because the market is shaky, community LPs aren’t coming in as hard as they used to, and a -BUSD pair protects against horrible IL and net losses on AMMs during bearish seasons. ApeSwap remains our strong partner and time and time again we cannot help but be impressed by how they treat us. From day one, both behind the scenes and in public, ApeSwap has been one of the premier league teams in this industry. Call them apes but we call them friends!
Constant top-ups on the PancakeSwap HOTCROSS-BNB LP farm via auction. We’re probably the most active team in the history of PCS’s winning auction lists. That may change, but we spent so much time and money on that to keep liquidity healthy in pancake land during March. This may change - you can’t subsidize a farm forever with company funds, so it’s either 1) nudging that liquidity over to ApeSwap on the HOTCROSS-BUSD pair via additional incentives or 2) letting incentives on PCS go back to 0.1x or even 0x and leaving users to choose which farm they wish to participate in. Remember that there was a time when LPs weren’t given a ton of incentives so all of this sweetener stuff is just that, sweet for now.
You know when you’re working on something for a while and it seems like it’s calm outside although the car is moving at lightspeed? That’s kind of how things feel around Hot Cross lately. It’s calm but we’re still shipping and moving at a pace out of this world.
What’s in April? We don’t do roadmaps but we’re looking to finish up on a pretty slick SDK, launch a lot more vaults and also launch Cross Pool out to Ethereum and Avalanche. “A lot more of the same but better.”
We’re also looking into a few new product ideas. Our core focus is on Hot Cross, its ecosystem, and infrastructure; however, we want to make sure that some of that value capture is also finding its way back to the HOTCROSS ecosystem. Should be a fun month. We may even start digging into non-EVM soonish.
Thanks as always for sticking around with us and giving feedback. We don’t always respond immediately but we see everything. Onwards!
